Tall gal, tall troubles
I found a link on fb from a tall woman who draws cartoon about the trials and tribulations of being a tall gal. Now, being a tall woman in the USA is...interesting...but being tall in South Korea is damn near a circus, real talk. Take a look. She hits the tall nail right on the head.

Gwangju TESOL regional conference
I will attend the TESOL regional conference below this Saturday to promote my book.
Not sure how it will work out but glad for the opportunity to market my product.
Hopefully there will be many people there and they will be interested in educating their children with this book. This will be less expensive than Itaewon since Gwangju is only ninety minutes away from my town.
Wish me luck!
This is a one day conference at Gwangju National University of Education. It's on Saturday, March 9 . This conference normally attracts a wide range of attendees including public school teachers from Gwangju EPIK as well as JLP, and also private/international school teachers, hagwon teachers, and university teachers.
There will be a bunch of workshops and discussions, and also interactive displays. EJ Sankofa will be there, and you'll be able to check out her book Johnny and Joshua Coming to Korea!
Including workshops on: using QR codes and other barcodes in class, doing lessons about refugees, English language arts and crafts, error correction strategies, critical pedagogy, and more.
Discussion topics include: 'What are we teaching for?!', classroom management, the challenges faced by NETs, native-speakerism, and teaching English through content.
After the conference there will be a dinner at a nearby pasta restaurant and all are welcome.
:)
Hope to see you there!

Itaewon dreams - sell that book, girl!
My second book sales event at I Art Seoul art gallery.
The ladies are always nice and friendly.
It was a great experience, again.
I spent 25,000 won for the table.
I spent 100,000 won on transportation and food.
Guess how many books I wrote?
Just a wild guess...
two.....two lonely books...LOL
Well, at least I was finally able to buy dresses
that fit me and meet greet business women.
So THAT is priceless.

A library may carry the book in Suncheon! Yay!
I just got a call from Dr Seo who has an office near my school. He informed me that he had enjoyed the book so much he decided to ask a Suncheon children's library to carry it.
This made me so happy!
This means many young minds will have access to its core message of commonalities between cultures.
Thank you, Dr Seo.

My book angel
Teacher Yuri was instrumental in helping me to get the book published. Her name is credited as layout editor. Teacher Yuri was always open to my classroom activities, no matter how high~energy they were. Because of her patience and understanding, our kids were engaged and learned a lot. She is a very kind teacher and I will miss her next school year.
Sometimes God sends you angels to help you reach your goals.
